History

Heritage Christian University (HCU) traces its origins to 1871 when T.B. Larimore established Mars Hill Academy near Florence, Alabama, to train ministers and Christian leaders for service in the Churches of Christ. Over the years, the institution evolved, adopting the name International Bible College in 1971, and eventually becoming Heritage Christian University in 2001. Throughout its history, HCU has remained committed to providing quality education rooted in Christian principles.
